Hello!  My name is Robert Monteleone, I am very happy and excited for the opportunity to be School Counselor at Lindeneau Elementary School.  I have the privilege of working with students through classroom guidance lessons, individual counseling, as well as small group counseling.  I also collaborate with our staff and parents in order to best meet the needs of our students at Lindeneau.  It is my honor and pleasure to work within the Edison community.  I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of the families at Lindeneau Elementary School.  If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments feel free to contact me at the information provided on the bottom of the page.

SERVICES PROVIDED

Individual Counseling - I talk with students on a short-term, confidential basis on either an academic, social or emotional challenge that has been brought to my attention or what the student feels that they need to discuss.  On our first individual meeting, it is disclosed to the student that my primary concern is the safety and well-being of the child.  If I feel a child is in danger, another professional adult must be notified.

Response Services - I am here to assist students with coping when there is a crisis.  I also respond to immediate issues that have occurred during school hours that prevent the student (s) from actively participating in class.

Classroom Lessons - I visit each classroom throughout the year multiple times to discuss, and interact with every student during these lessons.  The topics that are discussed include, school readiness skills, respect, understanding our feelings as well as others, problem solving strategies, making friends, and setting goals.

Systems Support - A counselor is available for consultation with parents/guardians, teachers/staff, and other professionals as needed.  This intervention can take place in individual or group conferences, or through staff development.  In addition, referrals are made to outside agencies when needed
